Allegro
Allegro, a champion for children with disabilities, is a nonprofit, 501(c)3 organization that combines movement instruction with educational and medical expertise, creating a new vehicle to teach children with disabilities and enhance their quality of life. Junior League of Charlotte has partnered with Allegro for the first time this year. This new placement has ten volunteers working at CMC and in the Mecklenburg county schools helping to teach movement education to children with disabilities.
The Allegro Foundation has been impressed by the caliber of volunteers the JLC has to offer. In addition, Allegro requested additional volunteers for a Panthers’ pre-game performance on October 11th. The response from our volunteers was incredible! JLC member Leslie Holmes, who is also a Topcat, arranged for five Topcats to visit the children during a dress rehearsal. The children were so excited and the Allegro Foundation was touched by our commitment to them. This is a great beginning to a new Community Partnership for the JLC.
