Arts for Life: Presbyterian is the only hospital in the Charlotte area to offer this program. Arts For Life provides daily visual art, music, photography, and creative writing lessons, and art support groups to children, adolescents, and young adults battling cancer, life-threatening diseases, and other disabilities.
Big Shots: In partnership with the Mecklenburg county Health Department, provides convenient and accessible immunization clinics and education on vaccinations for the residents of Mecklenburg County and surrounding areas. www.co.mecklenburg.nc.us or http://www.meckhealth.org,
JLC Smiles: Volunteers assist in providing preventive dental healthcare education and maintenance for children in preschool and elementary school. Volunteers also coordinate Give Kids a Smile, a national day of free dental care to children from elementary school through high school whose families do not have the financial resources or insurance to address this need.
School House Rocks: Chapel of Christ the King’s Family Support Program that seeks to provide a series of workshops for parents on health, wellness and emotional abuse.
TILT: TILT was created in 1998 at the McCrorey Family YMCA to provide teens, ages 13-18, with structured activities during the critical time between 2:00 PM -6:00 PM. The JLC will plan and facilitate three off-site and 3 on-site field trips or activities that will get TILT members moving and will encourage a healthy lifestyle.
