JLC Legacy Society
Honoring the past. Sustaining the future.
The legacy of the Junior League of Charlotte, Inc. (JLC) spans 85 years, more than $12.5 million and millions of volunteer hours spent developing the potential of women and improving the community through the effective action and leadership of training volunteers.
A force for change in Charlotte since 1926, the JLC has had a tremendous impact on the lives of children and families by identifying and meeting community needs in measurable ways. The enduring legacies of our partnerships include the Children’s Theatre of Charlotte, Charlotte Nature Museum, Charlotte Speech and Hearing, Council for Children’s Rights and the JLC Family Resource Center at Levine Children’s Hospital.
To secure the future of the League and its initiatives, the JLC established the Legacy Foundation, furthering the work begun by the Community Endowment Campaign of 2001. When you establish a planned gift to the JLC Legacy Foundation, you enable the foundation to continue to nurture and support the Junior League mission and its volunteers, today and tomorrow. Your legacy gift will help perpetuate enduring service to our community, its families and its children.
No matter your stage in life – whether you’re single, married, raising a family or planning for your retirement years – it is important to reflect on the kind legacy you want to leave to your community and future generations of women. Your gift to the JLC Legacy Foundation helps provide for the future sustainability of an organization you have supported over the years; one that has helped shape the woman and the volunteer you are today.
When you choose to include the JLC Legacy Foundation in your estate plans, you will become a member of our Legacy Society. This important group of women will reflect the true spirit of the JLC volunteer – one who has given and continues to give of herself and her resources. The generosity of the Legacy Society members will be recognized annually in publications of the JLC, and members will receive invitations to an annual Legacy Society event.
