The Levine Children's Hospital Family Resource Center is open to the community! Tell everyone you know regarding this outstanding FREE resource and when you contemplate contributing to the Cornerstone remember that some of the funds are applied to excellent Junior League of Charlotte initiatives such as this!

 

Child Life:  The JLC provides activities and interaction for children and teens staying at the Levine Children’s Hospital. Activities include story time, arts and crafts/games and other activities, special events (Halloween Party, etc.) and serving as “buddies” for the young patients and their families during their stay.

Family Resource Center:  Levine Children’s Hospital:  Partner with Carolinas Medical Center’s children’s hospital to support their vision of creating the optimal environment for delivering the finest healthcare services to children our region as child life volunteers or JLC Family Resource Center volunteers.  www.levinechildrenshospital.org

JLC Puppets:  The Junior League of Charlotte Puppet Theater is proud to present, “You Are What You Eat.” The adorable original production was developed in collaboration with award-winning professional puppet company Grey Seal Puppets. The goal of the program is to teach young children ages 4-6 that making healthy food choices can be fun and yummy.  http://www.jlcharlotte.org/?nd=youarewhatyoueat

School Health Team:  JLC works to further develop the partnership with Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools. Volunteers promote good health and well being of children by working with school nurses, guidance counselors, fitness teachers and nutrition providers to determine the health related challenges facing the identified schools.

Speakers Bureau:  The Speakers Bureau is a JLC sponsored program where organizations can apply for the JLC to host a health-related speaker and/or healthful entertainment for children.

Focus on the Eyes
A chance for parents to learn the early signs of eye problems for their children: what to look for, what is normal, and when a doctor visit is necessary.
