Junior League of Charlotte

JLC Sponsors Toothbrush and Coat Drive

Donate a toothbrush to the September meeting to help a family in need.

Benefiting United Family Services, the JLC will be having a toothbrush drive during the months of September and October to highlight the traumatic and far reaching effects of domestic violence. Often times a parent is forced to flee an abusive partner with just the clothes on their backs and the children find themselves in a scary situation with no personal effects—not even a toothbrush.

What:    Toothbrush Drive and Coat Collection

When:   Collection box at the League Building through end of October

Why:     To highlight the tragic effects of Domestic Violence on every aspect of a child's life

APA (Advocacy and Public Awareness) will be collecting toothbrushes, both children’s and adults, at the JLC Headquarters, 1332 Maryland Ave in Charlotte. Please bring a toothbrush to donate to this worthy cause.

Additionally, United Family Services is already stocking up on new or gently used children's coats for the cool weather coming this fall. Please feel free to donate those that have been outgrown or pick up a new one while you are shopping. They fell very short last fall and with donations down this year will need many more than prior years.
