Official Position Statement
The Junior League of Charlotte, Inc.
(adopted 2007)

Whereas, more than nine million children lack health insurance in the United States with millions more possessing inadequate coverage;

Whereas, nearly 70% of uninsured children live in working families and over seventy percent of uninsured children live in families at or below the poverty level, and

Whereas, investing in children’s health returns innumerable benefits including cognitive and physical development, improved school performance, and long term savings in health care costs;

Be it resolved that the Junior League of Charlotte, Inc. supports campaigns and programs which help provide comprehensive, affordable, high quality health coverage for all children.
