Spotlight:  Faith, Hope and Love

Ten years ago a partnership formed between Grace Covenant Church and Dilworth Elementary School, and created the Faith, Hope & Love (FHL) program.  As one of the Junior League of Charlotte’s long-standing community partners, the program strives for each child in the program to meet or exceed academic standards for their grade level; to grow spiritually, socially and emotionally, and to share the faith, hope and love that they have witnessed through the program.  As FHL has grown, it has expanded to three Charlotte churches – Grace Covenant, Central Church of God and St. Paul United Methodist Church – to reach more than 50 students from area elementary and middle schools. 

Junior League volunteers partner with FHL by mentoring children and teaching them how to read and problem-solve through puzzles and games. They also give children a listening ear when needed, and most importantly, they show them they care for their well-being and success. 

One of the highlights of the FHL year is the annual Christmas play.  This year will be the production’s 11th year, and it promises to be another memorable evening for children, families and volunteers alike.  Join Junior League volunteers and celebrate the season with the children of Faith, Hope and Love.
