President’s Message

Welcome! I am happy you’re here and thrilled to serve as President of the Junior League of Charlotte for our 2022-2023 year.

Perhaps you’ve found your way to this page because you’re looking to learn more about the JLC. I found my way to the Junior League via a lucky internet search myself.

After graduating college and finding myself back in my hometown of Richmond, Virginia I was determined to experience Richmond in a new way. I needed to get to know the community differently and continue learning and growing. My web search was simple: local volunteering + community impact + leadership. That search will still bring you to the Junior League.

With a move to the Carolinas in 2010, the Junior League connected me to the Charlotte community and local women leaders. In transferring my membership, I quickly felt at home. No matter which city our league members call home, the 125,000 women in nearly 300 communities are driven to make a difference. Our members are truly amazing.

This league year we will wrap up our school readiness focus area and begin the shift to partner with organizations focused on mental and physical health for children from kindergarten to fifth grade. We will continue our focus on supporting and developing leaders through various training programs and our JLC network. We will expand our fundraising efforts to grow our impact. We will dive into the JLC member experience and how it influences our mission.

Join us on this journey. We welcome new members each spring and you can learn more about joining here. Learn more about becoming a Community Partner here and support our volunteers, community partners and mission here.

No matter what brought you to this page, I hope we find a way to stay connected.

Thank you,

Christina Gratrix
