President’s Message

On behalf of the 1,700+ members of the Junior League of Charlotte, welcome!

The Junior League of Charlotte , Inc. (JLC) is an organization that develops community leaders, and provides bold leadership on emerging issues and critical needs affecting the most vulnerable in Charlotte. Since 1926, the Junior League of Charlotte has been serving as a catalyst for change in the community. Whether it was founding Charlotte Speech and Hearing Center, playing a critical role in the founding of the Guardian Ad Litem program and Communities In Schools of Charlotte-Mecklenburg, or advocating for victim services for those affected by human trafficking, the Junior League of Charlotte continues to be at the forefront of our most pressing community issues. Our current focus area is to ensure that all children are school ready by focusing on the health and educational needs of children from birth to fifth grade in the Mecklenburg County Health Department’s priority zip codes.

The Junior League of Charlotte is structured to provide our members with training and education, to both maximize their contributions to the mission and extend that service into their professional and charitable endeavors. We are a diverse group welcoming all women who support our mission. In addition, League members serve on numerous boards and coalitions throughout the region, as well as lead a variety of business, civic and nonprofit organizations. As part of the Association of Junior Leagues International, we join over 155,000 women in four countries who are all passionate about developing leaders, promoting voluntarism, and improving communities.

Thank you for your interest in the Junior League of Charlotte. I encourage you to learn more about this organization by exploring our website. Whether you choose to make a donation , sponsor our projects and programs, become a community partner, or join our membership, your support of our mission will ensure that we continue to develop civic leaders who are at the forefront of this community’s most critical issues.

Sincerely,

Alicia Morris-Rudd
