It is well known that when you invest in women, you invest in the whole family. At the Junior League of Charlotte (JLC), we know that when you invest in women, you actually invest in the whole community.
For more than 95 years, the JLC has focused on its mission of promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women and improving the Charlotte community. We empower women so they can empower our community.
Our members have engaged in countless trainings, made lifelong connections and volunteered untold hours with our community partner organizations. They have gone on to become some of our city’s most dynamic leaders and have helped to found some of our city’s most celebrated institutions, including Discovery Place, the Council for Children’s Rights and the Charlotte Nature Museum. We are CHANGE AGENTS.
I can personally attest that the experience, training and relationships I gained through my JLC journey have been life-changing. They helped me develop as a leader and empowered me to better serve our community.
As president, it is my honor to welcome you to our website. I hope it provides a glimpse of the immense impact the JLC has in the lives of women and in our community as a whole.
More importantly, I invite you to join us. We are a 1,600 member strong sisterhood and army of women committed to building each other as we build our community.
We would love to have you. Be a JLC Change Agent.
Yours in service,
Kellie H. Lofton
