How the JLC Can Help

The Junior League of Charlotte (JLC) is equipping leaders in support of our community!

Since 1926 we have teamed up with some of the most impactful non-profits in Charlotte as we work together to improve our community.

  • Interested in applying for a grant or long-term partnership with the JLC?

Since its inception, the Junior League of Charlotte has provided more than $13.6 million in grants to the local community. The organization must have 501(c)(3) status and provide services/work within Mecklenburg County. The organization must be involved in activities consistent with the JLC mission and focus area(s), and have significant involvement of the JLC and/or JLC member(s).

A partnership with JLC ensures that a program or an initiative that is needed in a community has a great chance of succeeding because it takes the interests of all stakeholders into account and applies a volunteer leadership team of negotiators, collaborators, and service providers to the task. We help partner nonprofits get closer to fulfilling their mission.

  • Need to request trained volunteers?

  • Interested in learning about advocacy and public policy issues?

The Public Policy and Advocacy committee helps League and community members deepen their understanding of advocacy and public policy issues. The Public Policy and Advocacy curriculum teaches participants advocacy skills on the local, state, and national levels. In the class, attendees will participate in a city council simulation. They will also learn from city council members, state officials, and community leaders who share their experiences of advocating for change. It is open to JLC members and the public. • Are you in need of Board members for your organization?

Organizations may request JLC leaders to serve on their board of directors or community advisory board. If you are interested in candidates, please email a job description along with information about your organization to us. Our nominating committee will try and find a volunteer match for your needs.
